Articles from the Installers

Hi fellow Installers

Yes!  We are definitely in the middle of extremely challenging times.  I feel dearly for installers that sadly had to close shop.

I have however learned through experience that the economy works in cycles and we thus without question have great times ahead of us.  We are in a fantastically privileged position of helping others by solving their problems.  There is just no bigger reward than the smile on your customers faces!  (Something money just cannot buy).

I feel we only have two choices:  We can shoot ourselves in the foot, by listening to all the negative ramblings of every one trying to tell us everything is wrong and how much the are suffering, or take the positive out of the situation:  If you look around you at successful people, you will notice that they create abundance in good and bad times, by just changing the way they look at life.  I am not saying this is easy, because humans don't like change.  We can thus look at a stone and see something  we can kill somebody with, or look at the same stone as a potential piece of art- to be sculpted, and sold for profit!

When we change the way we look at objects, life and situations, it opens up a new dimension of possibilities to us.  We might have been brought up with the concept that only selected and special people are supposed to be the Da Vinci's and Einsteins of the world.  I promise you this is not true. Each one of us has a little Einstein inside that wants to come out, and this is the ideal time when we are getting nudged by life to let our creativity come to light.

Already there is evidence of ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things to better their lives and situations.  Undoubtedly we are going to hear stories and see this wonderful creativity in the next few years to come. We are a nation with a reputation of creating miracles – out of need.  Let us not wait for someone else to do the next great thing, but do it ourselves.  Remember anything is possible.  There are no limits.  There is however a unwritten rule in this universe called “Share”.   If you are in Pofadder and you discover a easier way of doing anything, you will be unmeasurably blessed if you share the idea with everyone you know that will benefit.  This website is a perfect avenue for the exchange of such brilliance.  So let us all start today, to use our talents to enrich our own lives, as well as the lives of others.

Best Wishes

LIGHTNING & SURGE PROTECTION

LIGHTNING & SURGE PROTECTION

The purpose of this article is to familiarise members with some of the basic concepts of surge and lightning protection. This is in no way meant to be a technical thesis.  The idea arose primarily from the common questions that are often asked on the subject and it was decided that some form of ‘layman’s guide’ would be necessary to clear up certain facts and especially myths or misnomers on the subject.

What is Lightning?
